Employees' Provident Fund Organization backs down
The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has announced on 16 January, That the will withdraw Adhaar from the approved list for verifying Date of birth
The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization, under the Ministry of Labour and Employment in the Government of India, states that by the will not accecpt Adhaar card as vaild document for verifiend date of Birth and deactivates it from its UIDIA ( unique identification Authority of India)
According to Unique identification Authority of India Directive (Circular No. 08 of 2023), the agency observed that Aadhaar card was being considered as proof for date of birth by several beneficiaries. Aadhaar Card, while a unique identifier, was not acknowledged as proof of date of birth according to the Aadhaar Act, 2016.
UIDAI’s circular, which cited the Aadhaar Act of 2016 and the regulations that oversee the enrolment and update procedures, made it very sound proof that now they will not take Adhaar in to consideration for verifyieng birth. -Birth Certificate issued by the Registrar.
-Marksheet provided by any recognised University
-School Leaving Certificate/ School Transfer Certificate/ SSC certificate containing Name and Date of Birth
– Pan card
-Domicile certificate
– Central or State Pension ststement.
