Holidays of all schools up to class 8th extended again due to unfavourable Chandigarh weather.

Holidays up to class 8th have been extended in all schools of Chandigarh. At the same time, for students from class 9th to 12th, classes will start after 9:30 am till January 20, 2024 and will end on or before 4 pm.
Union Territory Chandigarh has extended the winter school vacation for classes up to 8th till January 20, 2024.

“In view of the prevailing inclement Chandigarh weather conditions and to protect children from exposure to this extreme cold weather, Class VIII in any Government, Government-aided and recognized private schools in the Union Territory of Chandigarh till January 20, 2024 There will be no classes in physical mode till.
However, the official notice states that schools can conduct online classes for their students of these classes.

The notice further reads, “All government, government-aided and recognized private schools of UT Chandigarh will not open before 9:30 am for students of classes 9th to 12th till January 20, 2024, and after 4 pm “Schools must keep in mind the cold Chandigarh weather especially in the morning and late evening and the time taken by children to commute to school while scheduling these classes.”

To conclude it simply, till January 20, 2024, classes for students from class 9th to 12th will start after 9:30 am and will end on or before 4 pm. While providing relief to school staff, this announcement also allows schools to adjust the timing of their staff as needed.
